I have no financial, emotional, professional, or other interests or connections with in IK MM or eSoundz - this is just info. However, for $79 you can get the full ST 3 by buying a iRig Keys 37, until end of May (the IK MM "Fully Loaded Workstation Promotion" - actually you can "buy in" for as little as $59 and still get the full ST 3) Sound wise most are good to ok none are current state of the art or "best in class" but they are bread and butter working/workable sounds
If you use and like ST 2, or are still on a 32-bit only OS with no plans to upgrade soon, which means you can't jump to ST 3 anyway - ST 3 is 64 bit only, then these add-ons add new and expanded sounds. Or you can buy all the add-in sound libs for $79 (the "gold" expansion bundle). Right now eSoundz has their sale, it occurs a few times a year, of all ST 2 add-in libraries for $10 a pop. as a matter of fact, currently there is no way to implement a GM bank that functions as a GM in ST3.Ģ. OmniSynth 2, a SampleTank 2 specific bank with script, will load in ST3, and individual patches will load and play (like any ST2 add-on library) however, IT WILL NOT function as GM bank in ST 3 like it does in ST2.
